1st Day in Costa Rica- oh so warm!

eNRGweb791

Meet Arturo Oropeza- our masterful Costa Rican partner who wows, and dazzles all of our students.  I was met at the airport by his big smile, and new this years trips were going to be better than ever.  A late night red eye from Portland flew through Newark, and on to San Jose.  Did a bunch of Roll practice in the pool with Ciado, and we all headed to the canopy tour tomorrow.  Then off to several of Costa Rica’s best rivers!  Next week we will be working with a bunch of kids (age 9-14) so it is time to go scout all the sections before they arrive.  If you are reading this from North America- sorry- it is 85 degrees right now, and NICE!

Portland Kayak Classes

For me, this is what it is all about – teaching folks to kayak.  With my job I certainly have some tasks that I don’t enjoy that much – cleaning out the van, cleaning gear, entering class info into our database – but all of those tasks allow me to do what I really love: teach students to kayak.  The passion for instruction that we have here at Northwest River Guides is truly special.  We won’t try to sell you kayaks or gear and we won’t try to get you to take endless lessons.  Our only goal is for you to learn as fast as you can and have as much fun as possible.   We figure if that happens, you’ll recommend us to all your friends and then I’ll get to teach even more kayak lessons!  That would be awesome.  If you’d like to take a kayak lesson with Portland’s best kayak instructors, give me a call at the office, 503.772.1122 or check out our website.  I hope I see you on the water soon! -Dave

Sea Kayak Lessons in Portland, OR

It’s amazing all the wonderful places you can get to in a kayak.  I really enjoy sneaking up on wildlife or exploring some mysterious little cove on the Columbia River.  I often refer to sea kayaking as backpacking on water.  You can bring some food and water with you easily, or even pack for an overnight trip.  And you have no trails to stick to!  Paddle anywhere you like, as fast or as slow as you want.  Sea kayak lessons with Northwest River Guides will open this world up to you.  We’d love to have you on the water with us.  503.772.1122 www.northwestriverguides.com
