Join Next Adventure and NRG kayaking for two and a half hours of fun-packed Willamette River paddling! Demo a kayak from Next Adventure’s Portland kayak shop and get kayaking instruction in Portland from Northwest River Guides. It’s a great way to see wildlife, get some beginner kayak lessons and try out a kayak before you buy.

You’ll learn the basics of kayaking like the parts of the boat, paddle strokes, kayak fit and safety. By the end of the beginning kayak class, you’ll have the skills to get out on a flatwater paddling trip around Portland on your own. You’ll also experience the fun of close-up sightings of Ross Island’s birdlife like great blue herons and ospreys!
