1st Day in Costa Rica- oh so warm!

eNRGweb791

Meet Arturo Oropeza- our masterful Costa Rican partner who wows, and dazzles all of our students.  I was met at the airport by his big smile, and new this years trips were going to be better than ever.  A late night red eye from Portland flew through Newark, and on to San Jose.  Did a bunch of Roll practice in the pool with Ciado, and we all headed to the canopy tour tomorrow.  Then off to several of Costa Rica’s best rivers!  Next week we will be working with a bunch of kids (age 9-14) so it is time to go scout all the sections before they arrive.  If you are reading this from North America- sorry- it is 85 degrees right now, and NICE!

International Whitewater Adventure Trips

Each year, Northwest River Guides – formerly eNRG Kayaking – puts together a host of international trips to remote countries in search of the best whitewater. We have organized adventure trips for the last 10 years, exploring whitewater in Nepal, Tibet, Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, and many other locales.

In the coming months, you will see details about our 2009 international whitewater programs to the following countries.

Costa Rica
India
Uganda / Tanzania
Nepal

Sign up early if you want to be on any of these mailing lists.

These adventure trips are typically for people who are interested in expedition style trips, but are for all skill levels (except when noted). We take rafters, kayakers and even the occasional inflatable kayak. These adventure trips are extremely popular, as it not only gets you to unique whitewater, but it also immerses you in another culture.

If you have any questions and want to be on our mailing list for future international expeditions, contact our international expedition coordinator, Donovan Pacholl. Donovan@enrgkayaking.com. We sometimes plan trips more than 1 to 2 years in advance so start talking with us sooner than later.

Costa Rica 2008!!!

Well, I am back from Pura Vidaville yet one more time, and Costa Rica in December has never been sweeter!  The palm tree and pelican paradise was as tropical as ever.  Though the waves were pretty small this year, I did get to visit the Surf and Body Boarding National Championships sponsored by Red Bull, and I was able to watch Rambo from Team Aventuras H20 kick some serious butt!
