Skills Socials Are Back!

IMG_5405

Join NRG Instructors and students for a free paddling opportunity every week – the Skills Social!  Every Thursday we gather a Sellwood Riverfront Park in SE Portland for an evening of kayaking, light instruction and new friends.

Skill Socials are great if you would like to:

  • Get some free additional instruction outside of classes
  • Meet new folks to paddle with
  • Brush up on your paddling technique
  • Just relax on the water after a day of work

Skills Socials are open to NRG students and friends.  If you’ve never kayaked before, or have some friends that would like to try it, you are more than welcome.  If you need us to bring you some gear(at no cost!), just give the office a call at 503.772.1122.  We have a limit of about 15 kayaks we bring each week, so call now to reserve your free kayak.  Got your own gear?  Awesome, we’ll see you there.

When: Every Thursday 7-8:30 pm, until September 24

Where: Sellwood Riverfront Park, just north of the Sellwood Bridge on the east side of the river.

Having fun and learning to kayak with Northwest River Guides.

Portland Kayak Classes

For me, this is what it is all about – teaching folks to kayak.  With my job I certainly have some tasks that I don’t enjoy that much – cleaning out the van, cleaning gear, entering class info into our database – but all of those tasks allow me to do what I really love: teach students to kayak.  The passion for instruction that we have here at Northwest River Guides is truly special.  We won’t try to sell you kayaks or gear and we won’t try to get you to take endless lessons.  Our only goal is for you to learn as fast as you can and have as much fun as possible.   We figure if that happens, you’ll recommend us to all your friends and then I’ll get to teach even more kayak lessons!  That would be awesome.  If you’d like to take a kayak lesson with Portland’s best kayak instructors, give me a call at the office, 503.772.1122 or check out our website.  I hope I see you on the water soon! -Dave
