Bachelor Island, WA Bird Watching Paddle July 26
On July 26 we head 30 minutes north of Portland to the Ridgefield, WA national wildlife refuge! Our eight-mile route will take us around Bachelor Island, where we’ll witness eagles, ospreys, blue herons, kingfishers and cormorants. During migrating season thousands of sandhill cranes can be seen, making their distinctive calls as they fly past. This paddle takes us through varying environments – slough, wetlands and the Columbia River. We’ll also cover an introduction to kayaking – entering/exiting the kayak, paddling strokes, safety and bracing during the paddle.
Kayaks and equipment included! Call 503-772-1122 to register.
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Price: $75 For a detailed description of the area click on #1 on this Ridgefield WA tourism map.
